GoGo squeeZ recently issued a voluntary recall for its non-organic applesauce products.
According to the company's press release, food residue was found on production equipment in a GoGo squeeZ factory during a routine inspection by the Michigan State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).
In a response to consumers' concerns on Facebook, a GoGo squeeZ representative explained that the company's recalling certain products due to possible contamination.
GoGo squeeZ issued this statement in their press release:
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue. The food product residue was noted during a routine inspection by the Michigan State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), which revealed its presence in two product pumps at the Traverse City, Michigan production facility. It is possible the food product residue may have been incorporated into finished product.
"No illnesses connected to this issue have been reported," the announcement reads. "While it is possible the food product residue may have been incorporated into finished product, we test our applesauce extensively, and at this time, we have not seen evidence of this in our pouches.”
According to the GoGo squeeZ site, the recall only impacts non-organic products and therefore does not include GoGo squeeZ Organic products or GoGo squeeZ YogurtZ.
The impacted products include applesauce pouches and cartons with "best before" dates from December 4 2015 to March 4 2017. The pouches contain a five-character code beginning with "US" and the cartons have a six-digit code with a "Product of USA" statement on the back.
Consumers who have purchased the items listed for recall can call GoGo squeeZ at 1-844-275-5841 or access a voucher here.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (CBS) – A brand of applesauce pouches popular among children is being recalled after inspectors found food product residue in factory pumps.
GoGo squeeZ is voluntarily recalling pouches with best buy dates between Dec. 4, 2015 and March 4, 2017 as a result of the findings. The company says no illnesses connected to the issue have been reported yet.

“While it is possible the food product residue may have been incorporated into finished product, we test our applesauce extensively, and at this time, we have not seen evidence of this in our pouches,” GoGo squeeZ said.
The recall does not affect the company’s organic products or new yogurt.
In October, GoGo squeeze recalled some applesauce pouches because there was a chance they could contain mold.
